Hand of Mercy has an Outpatient Therapist position available $60-65/hourly per billable hour depending on if you are a conditionally or fully licensed, plus paid training, travel time, supervision, and documentation.          

Job Description:

Outpatient Therapy provides intensive clinical therapeutic services to individuals with identified mental health diagnosis. This service is designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis and can be provided in-home, in-office, or other approved/appropriate community setting. Outpatient therapy includes psycho-educational activities/interventions designed to assist the client of the reduction of dysfunction. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal specific interventions.

Responsibilities:

To deliver in-home or in-office services to clients as requested by the of area mental health including the specific hours requested. To provide therapeutic interventions to the identified client in order to enhance and foster the client’s optimal functioning and interactions in home and community. To continually assess client needs, service availability and appropriateness. To work cooperatively with treatment as a team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Person Centered Plan. To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by MaineCare and HOM standards.

Qualifications:

  • LCSW/LCSW-CC/LCPC/LCPC-CC/LMSW/LMSW-CC with active ME State license or the ability to obtain licensure within 30 days.
  • Preference for experience and knowledge of psychosocial assessment.
  • Preference for experience working with youth and young adults and people with mental illness.
  • Preference for experience working with individuals involved in the criminal legal system, homeless and immigrants.
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a high paced and stressful environment.
  • Ability to work independently and strong advocacy and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of participants and staff.
  • Ability to do a minimum of 22 billable hours weekly.
  • Reliable transportation with insurance coverage.
