Salary: $87,528 annually (Based on $42/hour)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (1-hour Paid Break)

Hand of Mercy (HOM) is looking for a licensed clinician to provide supervision and outpatient therapy services. This important role will be performed at our main office location in Portland, ME. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to grow with our agency and who has experience in interviewing, training, and establishing/growing community partnerships. If you’re an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT with an active Maine State license or the ability to obtain licensure within 30 days, this is your opportunity to make a difference in the community!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Supervision & Outpatient Therapy: Provide clinical supervision to a small group of clinicians and case managers, while offering outpatient therapy services to assigned clients.
  • Evaluate and Screen Participants: Conduct evaluations to identify eligible participants for the HOM programs by reviewing referrals and performing screening interviews to assess the suitability for services.
  • Crisis Management: Effectively manage crises to ensure participant safety and well-being, providing immediate intervention when necessary.
  • Mental Health Assessment: Formulate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring the use of standardized mental health, drug use, and other relevant screening instruments.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Write formal evaluation reports in compliance with HOM’s assessment requirements and quality standards. Complete necessary intake paperwork, including entering participant data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Program Participation & Staff Development: Participate in clinical supervision, case review meetings, and in-service training programs. Also, engage in management, board, and staff meetings to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Quality Improvement & Training: Actively contribute to quality improvement efforts, staff training, coaching, and agency planning activities.
  • Cultural Competency: Provide culturally competent services, ensuring the consideration of ethnic/racial, cultural, social, economic, and behavioral factors in the accessibility, availability, and delivery of services.
  • Community Partnerships: Establish and grow community partnerships, helping the agency connect with key stakeholders in the field.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the agency.

Qualifications:

  • Required Licensure: Active LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT license in Maine, or the ability to obtain licensure within 30 days.
  • Experience: Significant experience in clinical supervision, outpatient therapy, mental health assessment, and treatment planning.
  • Crisis Management Skills: Ability to handle crises effectively and ensure participant safety.
  • Culturally Competent Service Delivery: Knowledge and experience in providing services that consider the client’s ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic background.
  • Community Engagement: Experience in interviewing, training, and establishing/growing community partnerships.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and support clients and colleagues.
